I got the Armageddon blues Though I know the sky ain’t falling down It’s all apocalyptic ruse Don’t you know the sky ain’t falling down Fallin’ down, fallin’ down Fallin’ down I hear masters and their rubes Talkin’ that the sky is falling down Preachin’ the end is coming soon But I know the sky ain’t fallin’ down Fallin’ down, fallin’ down Fallin’ down I got the Armageddon blues Though I know the sky ain’t falling down It’s all apocalyptic ruse Don’t you know the sky ain’t falling down I know the sky ain’t falling down

When the walls came down It set a spark Lying side by side Whispers filled the dark As the sea will roar The earth will surely shake The wind will take away The fire will forsake All I have I to give I give it all to you We only represent what we were given The soul, feeling and message still remain Beauty abounds - here and beyond An open vessel - memories drawn All I have I to give All I want to give I give it all to you All I want for you All I have for you All I want, all I have - I give it all to you Let your face be the last I see as I depart I’ve known your heart beat from the very start Now take this paper scrap and hold it near It holds no wisdom, It states no fear All I have I to give, all I want to give All I have I to give, all I want to give I give it all to you

Angeline 03:52
A calling That came late in the night At the speed of light And left me burning Embrace, a soul that needs repair The hot Santana’s flare And tell me that you’re near Angeline I only need to see your smile Angeline A change of season in your eyes Angeline If I could only see you smile Angeline My memories of you, so alive You spoke Nothing was the same Doesn’t matter anyway You set that fire Trouble’s brewing once again Righteous and profane No one is to blame Angeline I only need to see your smile Angeline The change of season in your eyes Angeline If I could only see your smile Angeline Those memories of you, so alive

Hangin’ like a silver thread Left alone, left for dead You gave to me the gift of life Blockade, a record’s skip Numbing nerves with needle tip You gave to me the will to live Open your arms I’m coming home Our mission prayer - seeds are sown Open your arms I’m coming home Our mission prayer - seeds are sown Captured, the enemy Content to dangle remedy I do not get a single sip Hiding an elephant Hard to miss, too big to fit You ordered me - shoot to kill Open your arms I’m coming home Our mission prayer - seeds are sown Open your arms I’m coming home Our mission prayer - seeds are sown Targets running through a mist Gorilla warfare, march, protest You handed down a lust for life Hangin’ like a silver thread Left alone, left for dead You gave to me the will to live

When I was a little boy I knew of certainty Learnin’ songs all day long There’s no sense in hoping for The old days to renew ‘Cause they’re gone, gone, gone Some will say we all walk through this world alone Moving forward at all cost, wanting to be shown Love is the reason, fall is the season And that’s when I come home When I was a young man I learned of earthly ways playin’ hard, livin’ hard There’s no sense in waiting for The old days to renew ‘Cause they’re gone, gone, gone Gone When I was a big man I knew of earthly ways Sing your song, turn the page Now the world is hoping for The old ways to renew But they’re gone, gone, gone Some will say we all walk through this world alone Moving forward at all cost, wanting to be shown fall is the season, love is the reason And that’s when I come home

I’ve been running at a slow exhaust Dodging pot holes in a beat up Lancer The daily grind is at a new extreme Gotta get away, make a quest Flirt with fire with a Spanish dancer The working week is looking mighty lean Seems were always hoping for a hero in the end But hold on we’re gonna make it ‘round the bend Talking to the Doo Dah Man About the ghetto freeway sound Trying to make sense of what’s goin’ down Racing past the radar gun Rolling ‘round the bend Knowing that the wind’s my only friend Seems were always hoping for a hero in the end But hold on we’re gonna make it ‘round the bend Talking to the Doo Dah Man About the ghetto freeway sound Trying to make sense of what’s goin’ down Racing past the radar gun Rolling ‘round the bend Knowing that the wind’s my only friend

Scotch Egg 03:13
Just a scotch egg, rolling around Discarded and tossed to the ground Ideas that never find Their rightful place in pop culture town Work all night, work all day To be tested and thrown away The last chance to have it your way Before boss man starts taking your pay The scotch egg just never found It’s rightful place in pop culture town Just a scotch egg, rolling around Discarded and tossed to the ground Ideas that never find Their rightful place in pop culture mind Work all night, work all day To be tested and thrown away

Awash in the old days Thinking of you The trials and hardships The power of song We had some good times Way back when But don’t you know We’ll never see them again Don’t say it We are what we are Don’t blame me We just pushed it too far Why keep on trying When the last time around We shot for the moon Never leaving the ground Lost in the beauty Of all that was new Why’d you go away Still thinking of you Don’t say it We are what we are Don’t blame me We just pushed it too far
9.
Sometimes it feels That there’s only sadness Filling the spaces between A wall of anger Searching for a reason That only your presence can reveal Then I hear your quiet transmission Sorting these memories of you Coming through the noise and the static Dressed up in green and in blue Dropped in an ocean A vast panorama Adrift in a freak show parade Teardrop colors Flow down upon me Dreams are just snapshot charades Falling down… Then I hear your quiet transmission Sorting these memories of you Coming through the noise and the static Dressed up in green and in blue

Walk a mile just to turn a page Muscle verses pound Stand in line hoping for some change My spirit shakes me down Don’t walk away, don’t walk away This world, spinning ‘round Don’t walk away, don’t walk away In time, we’ll rebound Being pulled into the undertow The river runs profound Wooden soldiers falling in a row My soul is so knocked down Don’t walk away, don’t walk away This world, spinning ‘round Don’t walk away, don’t walk away In time, we’ll rebound Watching water darken into crude Really brings me down Seeing clouds reshape then start to move My spirit shakes me ‘round Don’t walk away, don’t walk away This world, spinning ‘round Don’t walk away, don’t walk away In time, we’ll rebound

about

Family Snapshots is a record of reflection and reinvention.
Akin to sitting with a box of old family photos - ghosts and
fading memories: looking back to move forward. It features
an eclectic sonic palette rooted by ever-present piano and
the many talents of my music family. It is a sound I present as
Americana Soul Cinematic.
